Privacy Policy — WORKLY

WORKLY ("we", "our", "us") operates a platform that connects users looking for physical services ("Clients") with people offering those services ("Providers"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the WORKLY mobile application and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect only data used by the current app functionality:

1. Account and profile information: name, email, password (handled by authentication provider), role (Client/Provider), optional phone number, optional profile photo (avatar), optional biography, optional provider specialties, and language preference.
2. Age verification input: date of birth entered at sign up is used to verify that users are 18+. We do not persist date of birth in profile records.
3. Service request and order data: task title, description, category, budget/price, schedule/date, status changes, and related history needed to complete services.
4. Location data: approximate request location (fuzzy coordinates and area name) is stored for matching and discovery. If you choose to share exact location in chat, it may include precise coordinates/map links in your message content.
5. Media uploads: optional images attached to service requests or chat messages.
6. Communication and trust data: chat messages, ratings, reviews, report reason/description, and moderation status fields needed to keep the marketplace safe.
7. Device and notification data: push notification token, platform (iOS/Android), and token last-seen timestamp for delivering message notifications.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• create and manage user accounts
• connect Clients and Providers and show relevant requests
• enable in-app chat and optional media/location sharing
• manage offers, order status, and completion flow
• deliver push notifications for activity updates
• enforce safety, moderation, and abuse prevention
• meet legal and compliance obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Sharing

We may share limited data with:

• Clients and Providers involved in the same request/order flow
• Infrastructure/service providers required to operate the app, including Supabase (auth/database/storage), Vercel (hosting), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications)
• Geocoding/map providers (OpenStreetMap/Nominatim) when you use location features
• Legal authorities, if required by law

Current Release Billing Notice

The current WORKLY release is free to use and does not include in-app purchases or subscriptions. If billing behavior changes in future versions, we will update this policy and related disclosures before release.

Data Storage & Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect account, messaging, and service data. Access controls and least-privilege policies are applied where possible. No system can be 100% secure.

Data Retention

We keep account and service records while your account is active and as needed to provide app functionality, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal requirements. When deletion is requested, we remove or anonymize data where legally and operationally possible.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from the app: open Settings (client or provider dashboard), scroll to Delete account, and confirm. This permanently removes your login and deletes associated profile data, service requests, orders, chat messages, reviews (including those you wrote or received), push tokens, and other records tied to your account, subject to our database configuration. This action cannot be undone.

Your Rights

You may request access, editing, export, or deletion of your data, subject to legal and operational limitations.
